Au Revoir Friendster…
Tuesday, January 10th, 2006Dearest Friendster;
Oh, what good times we’ve had together. i joined you years ago, when you were a buzzing hub of online friendship and electronica and have excitedly blogged with you for the past ten months, but my patience with you, dear Friendster, is waning and i’m afraid that our love affair must now come to an end. Over the course of the last several months, you have changed your appearance, your formatting and your overall style. i endured, though. i remembered our brighter days together and how much fun we used to have together and believed that our love would endure through this phase of our relationsthip. i had faith in you, Friendster, but you have let me down. You are riddled with links that do not work, you constantly send me email notifications that i have new friends awaiting my approval, but when i go to your new complicated, worthless control panel, i cannot find any notices of my new awaiting friends - why must you play those cruel games with me? WHY?!? i have hoped and prayed that this was just some sort of technical glitch that your IT team would eventually figure out and resolve, but i must confess Friendster, throughout the duration of this glitch, i have engaged in relations with myspace. i know what you’re thinking - yes, there are a LOT of idiots on that site who create profiles with Ferrari backgrounds, yellow or white font, and multiple blaring music videos, all of which take about 40 minutes to download. You’re probably thinking that i am leaving you for something flashier and younger - the latest flash in the pan, if you will. But not all of myspace is bad - there are good people there too - people who know how to format their sites, pick font colors you can read, and who generally amuse me with their silly pictures. Most importantly, though, myspace operates without nearly as many glitches as you do. i’m sorry that it came to this, Friendster. You were a wonderful friend, but i am moving on. If it’s an consolation, our ten month blogging love affair did run about five times longer than most of my other affairs run. i know you’ll be bitter for a while, but when you’ve healed from the wound i’ve just inflicted, feel free to check out the new home for my blog at:

Cheers to jaded memories of failed relations and the excitement of new love!
*You will have to sign up at myspace to enjoy my blogging, but there is much less hassle involved than there is here.
